"Roundwood House is a peaceful estate plucked straight out of a period movie. It's cozy rooms and gracious hosts, Frank and Rosemarie, give the ride the finishing touch it deserves. Everything at Roundwood cries out for you to relax. Whether it is enjoying tea in the drawing room, playing with the family dog, or just taking a stroll around the 18 acres, there are ample things to entertain you.  Rosemarie is a superb cook and Frank a wonderful conversationalist. It truly felt like home!"

"If you really want to see Ireland - see it from a horse. There's no better way to get closer to the countryside, and the people, than by touring on horseback. From the excitement of cantering up winding forest trails, to the quiet joy of walking along deserted roads, this week had it all. And there's nothing like the thrill of splashing through a rocky river -- until you suddenly find yourself in it up to the knees! But bring your spirit of adventure, and maybe a snorkel, and you'll have the holiday of a lifetime. I know I did."

Robert Obie, Wallingford, CT, U.S.A.

Most of the coniferous woodlands of Slieve Bloom are dominated by Sitka Spruce and Lodgepole Pine. However, broadleaf cover of birch and willow grow profusely along the valley floors and oak, alder, rowan and holly are quite common. As you ride through the glens you may glimpse fallow deer, and there's no shortage of foxes, squirrels, hares, stoats and feral goats.

We provide the best of Irish Country House accommodation, the best food in the area, the most knowledgeable of guides and our horses are like Guinness - Irish, strong, sweet and good! This is an essential equestrian experience for everyone with a love of horses and a paradise for anyone who likes the outdoors.

"Thanks Margaret, for such an enjoyable horse back tour of a most beautiful portion of Ireland. It is a trip I will never forget! As our hostess and guide you were charming, professional and just plain FUN to be with. Your personality and charm will carry your business far."
